Breakups are hard.

This is easily one of the hardest ones I've gone through. I couldn't stop myself from falling apart at random intervals throughout the day. In the middle of a conversation my eyes would water up and I'd sit there sniffling like the whiny little pussy baby I am. I don't know what I would have done if Kersten wasn't there. I'd probably be hysterical. Cry myself into a fit. I've done it before, why not again?
It hurts.

I don't know what to believe anymore.

I hope he's happy with what he did.

I was just reaching the point where you get used to having someone around, someone always in your life. It's the little things that are getting to me most of all; where will I go in the mornings? Who will I sit with during homeroom?
I don't know if it's truly sunk in yet. I keep having these exciting thoughts about things, like "Omg, I can't wait to tell him about this!" and then feeling like death inside immediately after those thoughts.

I want to throw myself in front of a bus.

I can't trust anyone.

I'm on my own.

I can't imagine that he'd be reading this. He doesn't give a flying fuck about what happens to me, he only cares about himself and making people feel bad for him.

I'm not okay. I'm far from being okay.

I don't know if I'm angry or depressed. Angry because he lied to my face without a remorse. Depressed because I've lost someone I've been close to.

How dare I think someone actually liked me? How dare I come out of my shell? Who the hell does this girl think she is?

I just want to disappear.

I'd give it all to you
Letting go of me
Reaching as I fall
I know it's already over now
Nothing left to lose
Loving you again
I know it's already over, already over now

Questions

I found this on Tumblr but I didn't feel like making an "answer-a-day" challenge (I'm already doing one at the moment and I would get myself confused). Plus I don't want to spam peoples' dashes, blah blah.

So I'm just going to do this all right now.

What was your first finished project?
I made a scarf.

What is currently on your needles?
A baby sock, baby blanket (both for my nephew), a hat, and soon to start a Ravenclaw scarf.

Do you have any other WIPs (works in progress)?
(See above)

How did you learn how to knit?
From a book that came in a kit which my mom gave to me for Christmas when I was 12. I didn't think I would like it at all, ahaha. My mom doesn't even knit.

How long did it take from the time your learned how to knit, to finish your first project?
Well, since it was a scarf, it took me a while, anyway. I don't even know how long, since it was nearly 6 years ago.

What is your favorite piece that you’ve knit?
I actually knitted a piece of cake a few years ago.

(It doesn't stand up on its own anymore, unfortunately.)

Your least favorite?
I don't really have one.

What’s your most challenging project?
I designed a sweater for myself when I was 13. The design is fine, but the outcome wasn't so good. The sleeves are different sizes and the stitching is uneven. So, yeah, I'd have to say that was the most challenging for me.

What fiber or yarn do you love working with?
My current favorite is TLC Essentials, but I like a lot.

Do you have a favorite pattern or designer?
No.

Do you have a “Knitter Hero” or someone that is just way too awesome for their own good? Do share!
I used to have someone I would knit with a lot when I would go to her house, but I'm not friends with her anymore. I'm kind of a unicorn amongst the people I know. There aren't very many people I know who knit/crochet.

Where do you keep your stash? Post pictures!

Gurl this ain't even half of it.

Do you have yarn that you love but can’t find a project for?
Microspun, I think it's called? I was stupid and didn't buy enough for anything practical. I could buy another one that color, but the dye lot would be different...

What’s the worst yarn/fiber that you’ve worked with and why?
Ugh, Lion Homespun. The "bubbles" keep sliding down the yarn and getting bunched up and a;ldkfjas;dfkjsdlfj

What was your least favorite pattern and why?
I don't really have one.

Have you ever had a knitting related injury?
Not really, but I have a callous on my left pointer-finger because I have a habit of pushing the right needle with my left hand instead of pulling it. Hard to explain, but yeah, a callous.

Have you ever had a project that you loved become ruined? What’s the story behind it?
I made a Möbius strip once out of this pink-and-purple dyed, soft yarn. The pattern made it large enough for a scarf/cowl. I wish I could find the pattern again (in its original form. I have a printed version, but the ink is faded).
It met its fate when I left my closet door open by accident and my cat (at the time he was only a couple-month-old kitten) ate a hole in it. Yes, ate.

Do you knit English or Continental?
Actually, I don't do either. I wrap the yarn around my thumb. It's weird. I've tried both American and Continental/European, but I don't feel comfortable. .-.

Do you watch movies and/or listen to podcasts while knitting? What are your favorite things to knit to?
Ohmygod, that's one of my favorite things to do. The other day I was watching Harry Potter and working on my hat.

Do you knit in public? Was anyone offended/incredibly happy/curious that you were doing so?
Absolutely. I was actually knitting during my Art History class today. I've gotten into this love of knitting during school for whatever reason. I've gotten mixed looks. Some were curious, some people were weirded out, etc.

Do you knit gifts for friends and family for the holidays or birthdays?
I used to do that more often, but it's hard to know what they'll want knit for them. Plus worrying about sizes, yarn types, etc. If someone wants me to knit them something, I have a policy that says "buy the yarn yourself and make sure there's enough to finish the whole thing."

Have you ever stricken someone off your to-knit-for list because they didn’t appreciate/take care of your last knitted gift to them?
No one really appreciates my knitted gifts as much as I wish they would. I would knit for someone if I knew they would appreciate it.

If you had the supplies (and patience) for it, what project would you start today?
Considering I have a fuckton of supplies (see above posts), and have a lot of patience for knitting, I'd have to say that I would just work on the projects I currently have.

Have you ever made your own pattern or dyed your own yarn? How did it turn out?
I'm actually making my own pattern with that hat I mentioned earlier. I haven't written a single thing down; every pattern detail is in my head. :D When I'm done, if it's successful, I might write the pattern and post it. It has cables and eyelets~

Do you have a knitting book or a place where you keep patterns, ideas, size measurements? Post a picture of it!
I'm too lazy to post it again. It's in the same rolling tote that I keep my yarn in.

Have you ever been a part, or wanted to be a part of a knit-a-long? What was it? If not, why?
I don't really know what all goes into a knit-a-long. Like, a group project? If so, no. Like I mentioned before, I'm kind of independent with my knitting. It would be nice to meet new knitters.

How do you acquire most of yarn? Online retailers, local yarn shops, swaps, or large chain craft stores? What’s your favorite?
I can only buy my yarn from large chain stores, like Jo-Ann Fabrics or Hobby Lobby (although I prefer the first one). I've Google'd lys for KC, but I haven't really found any promising ones. They all seem to be poorly-run or lack information or have gone out of business. :/ I would LOVE to go to one.

Do you do any other crafts besides knitting? What are they, and did learning to knit come before or after learning these other crafts?
I know how to crochet, but I don't like it as much because after some time it hurts my wrist, and it uses up a lot more yarn than knitting. :/ Crochet came afterward.

Do you have any tips, or things that you’ve learned from knitting?
Be patient. Also, make sure all your ends are woven in before you cut them, otherwise you'll find yourself mourning over your gradually-unraveling hard work.

What’s your name on Ravelry? If you don’t have a Ravelry account, why?
It's the same as any other site, Dawnne. :D

Angel hair blanket

It's good to finally see this blanket finished. I started it at least 3 years ago, possibly more.

It's softer than my hair, which is apparently quite a feat.
Made with THIS AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL YARN: http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/productdetail.jsp?CATID=cat3053&PRODID=prd23866

It's incredibly warm and fluffy.

Now I just have to keep cat away.

I have 4 current knitting projects at the moment, go me. OTL

Finished scarf

I didn't actually realize it until I was getting close to finishing it, but the colors of the scarf just so happen to match the shirt I randomly picked to wear today. Weird coincidence.

Yes, I'm wearing slippers. It was a snow day, don't judge me. I look horrible in both of these, anyway. It's 2 AM, okay. I don't exactly feel like getting all made up at the moment.

It measures approx. 5 feet in length. 11 stripes: 6 pink and 5 white. It's a simple garter stitch. 20 stitches on size 8 needles. Worsted-weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver, I think).

This is the simplest thing I've knit in a long time. It's the first completed thing I've knit in a long time, for that matter.

I have a blanket that's nearly done, and I'll post that as soon as it's done, too.

My next project (and this one actually has a deadline!): make a Ravenclaw scarf for myself to wear to the midnight premiere of HP Deathly Hallows Part 2 in July. It'll be weird wearing a scarf in July, but whatever. I wanna show which team I play for. :D
